Viajar y conocer Brrasil
Brazil is famous mainly for its Rio de Janeiro city, Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, the giant statue of Christ, the "Cristo Redentor" on Corcovado Mountain, the annual celebration of Carnival, and the monolithic mountain known as Sugarloaf Mountain (the correct equivalent of Pão de Açúcar) although it is traditionally known in Spanish and other languages as Sugarloaf.
Rio de Janeiro is also famous for its geographical and urban characteristics. It was built in an area non-conducive for the establishment of a metropolis due to its small area, bounded by the ocean and the mountains.
RÍO DE JANEIROBRASIL
Rio de Janeiro is famous for the Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, its giant Christ statue, "Christ the Redeemer", on top of Concorvado Mountain, the annual celebration of Carnival and the monolithic mountain known as the Pão de Açúcar (Sugarloaf) mountain. Its name has been erroneously translated to several languages as "Sugar bread", when its origin has nothing to do with bread but, according to historian Vieira Fazenda, to the conic-shaped sugar blocks the locals exported in the colonial times. El equivalente más correcto de Pao de Açúcar, aunque es tradicionalmente conocido en español y otros idiomas como Pan de Azúcar
Rio de Janeiro is also famous for its geographic and urban features. As it was built on an unfit area for the settling of a city, for it is small and limited by the ocean and the hills, sometimes it can be as narrow as less than ten blocks. The city has a lagoon, Rodrigo de Feitas, on the northern side of Leme beach.
